With that in mind, across the nation a multitude of voices is rising up with one voice – NOT WITH MY CHILD — YOU DON'T! And, at OPERATION LOOKOUT®, we are determined for the molester and sexual predator to get that message.
It is our mandate at Operation Lookout to do all we can to help you keep your children safe by providing valuable resources through the links below.
Do you know how many registered sex offenders are living in your neighborhood?
On July 20, 2005, the United States Department of Justice established the NATIONAL SEX OFFENDER PUBLIC REGISTRY Website that the public can use to educate themselves about the possible presence of such offenders in their local communities.
Using the Website, interested members of the public have access to, and may search, their participating state's public information Website, regarding the presence or location of offenders, who, in most cases, have been convicted of sexually violent offenses against adults and children and certain sexual contact and other crimes against victims who are minors.
Tracy Henke, Acting Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Justice Programs said, “Real-time access to public registry information can offer parents, grandparents, and concerned citizens the ability to protect children by identifying sex offenders nationwide through a single search from their home computer, or even a local library with Internet access.”
THE INFORMATION PROVIDED ON OPERATION LOOKOUT'S WEBSITE AND THE NEW DOJ SITE IS INTENDED FOR COMMUNITY SAFETY PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE USED TO THREATEN, INTIMIDATE, OR HARASS. MISUSE OF THIS INFORMATION MAY RESULT IN CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.

What of the children who are missing? Here's how you can help…
When innocent children vanish from their homes and playgrounds, the world responds with its heart, and it cares. We are truly blessed and encouraged when we see how many of you give again and again so that children can be found, loved, nourished and nurtured once again by the parents who seek them.
Nothing should lead any of us to believe a missing child is a safe child. We simply can't afford to have such predisposition or preconception. Better we find the child, reunite the family, bring justice to the forefront of the situation, and address the issues at hand, than to assume they are always safe.
Each year over 800,000 children are reported missing. These statistics form a benchmark that clearly warns all of us that this blight on our society MUST stop and, that if we unite together, it can stop!
“NOT WITH MY CHILD! — You Don't!” is the OPERATION LOOKOUT anti-predator call-to-action, and a year-round expression of outrage against the rising cases of abducted children in our nation.
Everyday we learn of another news story about child abduction and we wonder what we can do all by ourselves? And— how can we do it fast enough? Today's technology and combined efforts of your watchful eyes, roadside blocks, neighborhood watch, massive phone banks for instant communications, Amber Alerts, and email “E”lerts broadcast, all come together in an attempt to thwart and to prevent the victimization of a missing child.
To be sure, every misguided man, woman or youth that lays a hand on my child — your child — in an inappropriate manner — will face the wrath of the laws and consequences of his or her actions. We intend to lead the way for a national campaign, whereby every politician, educator, community leader, and you will have a public outcry against the predator, the thief of childhood: NOT WITH MY CHILD! — You Don't!
For years, you may have been one of many in a million that have joined us by shouting out:
“No more!” to the pedophile, the sexual predator, the molester, the abductor.
Today, with our society's moral foundation in decline, we must move quickly to get this strong message to the lawmakers of our land, especially, as it pertains to granting early releases to long-term imprisoned child abductors and molesters. We must continue to raise our voices until the political climate creates Federal changes that prohibit early releases of child offenders and killers, regardless of good behavior, or what country in the world they live in. It won't be long before one, then another sex offender will need to think twice before committing acts that permanently land them in prison or on death row.
Consequently, Operation Lookout will be forwarding a Call-to-Action to our elected representatives, addressing that early releases and accurate tracking of registered child molesters be addressed through tougher laws.
This is a call for you to join the many voices and unite in the fight against child abuse and abduction. I know we can all agree - that one child abducted is one child too many. By working together, when every minute matters, we can keep our children safe, our communities more secure.
Here is how you can help:
- Send us your suggestions or comments to further the “NOT WITH MY CHILD! — You Don't!” campaign. We would love to hear your ideas, and appreciate your involvement, diligence and caring. Send your comments or suggestions to: oladmin@operationlookout.org.
- Visit our Ways You Can Help and Show Your Concern sections for additional ways you can make a difference.
- Download posters of missing children from the Directory, print out and ask permission to display them in business places you frequent.
- Become a Label or Display Ad Partner.
- Get involved. Participate in the May 25th Missing Children's Day activities in your community. If you don't know what is planned, call your governor's office, local television stations or newspaper and ask what is planned for this important day. If they don't know, ask them why they don't. Suggest to the media that they make it a significant news story -- because it is! Remember, almost one million children are reported missing every year. Those are staggering statistics and OPERATION LOOKOUT® is here to help. |
There are many ways all of us can help missing kids and their families. And, we must also do all we can to protect our nation's children from falling prey to those who want to do them harm by influencing the enactment of tougher laws, and encourage stricter enforcement of those already on the books.
An old, but wise adage is: 'If not now, when? If not us, who?' On behalf of Operation Lookout and our missing children and their families, thank you for your participation in this urgent Call-to-Action.
Such vision keeps alive the kindled sparkle in the dark and frightened hearts of victim families, and arouses in them renewed hope and encouragement, as they wait to be reunited with their precious child.
