A 2-year-old California girl who had been abducted by her mother was being returned Thursday to her home in Sacramento after being located this week in Cumberland County.
Investigators said the child, Maliah Dorsey, had been abducted in Sacramento in January by 25-year-old Regina Jenkins. Jenkins surrendered herself and Dorsey to Cumberland County deputies on Tuesday.
Dorsey was being returned to California through the cooperation of the Department of Social Services. Jenkins, who waived extradition back to California, was being held under in the Cumberland County Detention Center under $100,000 bond.
Jenkins was being charged by the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office with detention/concealment of a child and by the FBI with interstate flight to avoid prosecution.
Dorsey’s abduction has been profiled on the Web site for the National Center for Missing and EXploited Children.
