Families Say Thank You

It is said that 'a picture paints a thousands words.' But so very often we receive 'words that paint a thousand pictures,' for there can be no more beautiful a picture than that of a family reunited with their missing child.

The unedited letters you are about to read are from families whose children have been recovered. There is no mistaking that painted into every word are tears of joy, relief, hope and thankfulness. And for those whose children are waiting to be found, their letters of hope and appreciation confirms to us that Operation Lookout will never give up the search for their missing child.

These are but a few of the letters that cause the founders, caseworkers, chaplain and staff of Operation Lookout to know that the work we do twenty-four-seven is so very vital. The names of the children and last names have been eliminated to protect the privacy of the families.

Operation Lookout:

"I just wanted to stop and take the time to say “thank you so very much!" You did more in 24 hours than the...Sheriff's Office did in 6 days!...The...Police Department did in fact help me, when she had called me. I had them come, just in case she decided to run again.

God Bless you for all the wonderful work that you do!"

Operation Lookout:

"Ashley has been recovered! We wanted to take a moment and say, "Thanks!" to everything that you and Operation Lookout has done. It was because of the poster that you created that she was found...

"I can't Thank you and Operation Lookout enough for your help in her recovery. It felt at times that you were the only one that would listen to us and was genuinely concerned. I realize that authorities and such probably thought she would turn up sometime but WE just didn't know. It was scary.

"Thanks again for EVERYTHING you have done. I have contacted all the news stations ...about her recovery and to pray for those kids and parents that are still not as fortunate as we have been."

Your friend,
Steve F.

Operation Lookout:

"Thank you for what you do.... 20 years ago my daughter was missing and your detectives [case managers] found her - I remember the long nights of wondering and the police and other government agencies wouldn't give me the time of day! Your agency put a detective [case manager] on a 24-hour pager for me. "Never forget what a lifeline you are for us parents out here. -- I tell people how wonderful you are and worthy of every donation! Keep up the good work -- my daughter is now a mother of 4 teens herself and doing very well -- thanks to you folks we still have her!"

Operation Lookout:

Thank you so much for your help in getting the word out on my son, Jeremy. It means a lot that you have taken the time to construct posters, stickers, banners and all the other means to disseminate the information. The posters you sent were well done. Excellent work.

Thank you for keeping in touch with law enforcement for distribution of the posters and for getting Jeremy on the "Rigs for Kids" program.

I will keep in touch and again thanks for all your effort!

Respectfully, Mike

Operation Lookout:

This is all wonderful. Will you be able to let us know when these things will take place - the Rigs for Kids and Time's Square. I will go to New York to video Jeremy when he is on so we will have it for him. We are keeping a scrapbook for him so that someday he will know how very much we all love him and how much was done to try to find him and how many organizations knew of his plight and tried to help.

You all have been wonderful. We are blessed to have you working on our side. I would never have believed that it would take this long or that there were so many folks like yourself who give so selfishlessly to help others in need. I thank God you are there to help us.
With warm regards,
Char

"I called and reported (my daughter) has been found. I spoke to her caseworker today and informed her of the facts. I was looking at the site tonite and wanted to see a posting shes been found. I thought I would give OPERATION LOOKOUT my deepest thank you for all the help you have been these rough 14 months past. God is the answer!

I prayed everynight and GOD answered my prayers. I hope that other familys have the luck I have been given and their children are returned to them safely. Thank god there are organizations like yours to help the people in distress and in need as you have helped me.

There are no words that I can say or express to show you my thanks.

Im off work due to an injury but when I return I promise to send money to you to help others in need as you have helped my family to re unite and share the love and kindness as you have shown us.

Again, THANK YOU with all my heart!"

Sincerely, Steven

"I am writing you to apologize for all the work you had to put in while trying to find me. I realize now that it was the worst decision of my life, I hurt my family and other people I didn't think it would of affected. I want to thank you so much for taking the time and putting up posters. You helped my family out so much and that meanıs the world to me. And I know what I did was wrong and I won't do again. I have a job now and Iım going to be starting counseling and trying to learn respect. I am just glad to be home with my family, where I belong. Again, thank you for everything and I will keep in touch with you, to keep you posted on my wonderful life that I am going to have. Thank you so much.

Sincerely, Anna
