LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Police in Indianapolis have canceled the Amber Alert for Delano Wilson, a baby reported missing since an alleged robbery Wednesday. The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department issued the cancellation Friday evening, as officers continued searching for the child, who is 6-weeks old.

Police searched a wooded area Friday but also said tips from the Amber Alert had dwindled to two calls within the last six hours before the cancellation.

“Officers will continue to be on high alert but at this time no further searches are being planned,” the Amber Alert cancellation notice said. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Delano is asked to call 911 or text 888777 keyword “IMPD” with information.

City police Sgt. Kendale Adams and Police Chief Rick Hite say investigators are examining all aspects of the baby’s disappearance, including the father’s account.

An Amber Alert for the child was issued Wednesday night, about eight hours after 23-year-old Willie Wilson told police his son had been taken by a man and woman who knocked him out in an alley, west of downtown Indianapolis.

Adams says the FBI is assisting with the investigation.
