Police search for an attempted kidnapping suspect. Officers say he tried
to take an 11-year-old boy at a Broken Arrow park. It happened last week
at Urbana Park. Parents in the area say, they will focus on stranger
danger, and they’re worried.
“That’s what makes it even more frightening. This isn’t a main park, so
they can get away with it, it’s even more frightening,” one father tells
Police tell FOX23 the boy did the right thing: ran away when the man
asked him if he wanted a ride in his car. Police say parents should
teach children to never go willingly with strangers, and to make noise
and scream to attract attention to a potentially dangerous situation.
The suspect is described as white, heavy set, about 6 feet tall with
brown hair, bald on top, and tapered sideburns. He was wearing
sunglasses and a red sweatshirt. His car is described as a black Honda
Civic 2-door, with dice hanging from the rear-view mirror. Call BAPD
