The FBI announced Wednesday that DNA tests of a 12-year-old girl in Texas
have proven that she is not Teekah Lewis.
Teekah was 2 years old when she disappeared from a Tacoma bowling alley
on Jan. 23, 1999.
In April 2006, a private investigator hired by the Lewis family notified
Theresa Lewis that he found a girl in Dallas who he believed was her
missing daughter.
FBI agents in Dallas interviewed the girl and while they agreed that she
was a look-alike, they were confident at that time that she was not the
missing child.
The DNA testing was done to remove any doubt about the girl’s identity.
Teekah’s whereabouts remain unknown.
