Mexican authorities locate missing Chesnee teen

(Hildago, Mexico) Dec. 5, 2005 – Saturday Mexican authorities found a
missing teenager in Hidalgo, Mexico. The 14 year old girl had been had
been abducted from her home in Chesnee on November 26th, 2004.

Ciriaco Trejo Fuentes, 26, of Zimipan, Hidalgo, has been charged in
Spartanburg County with the kidnapping of the child and remains a
fugitive on this charge.

According to Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Lamkin, authorities
fingered Fuentes from the start. Lamkin says on November 26, 2004,
Ciriaco Trejo Fuentes was charged in Spartanburg County with kidnapping
the then 12-year-old victim. And on March 21, 2005, when officials
learned that the child was taken to Mexico, a Federal warrant was
obtained charging Fuentes with unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Mexican authorities worked with the US Embassy to locate the child. On
December 4, the teen was flown from Mexico to Greenville-Spartanburg
International Airport in South Carolina where she arrived late in the
evening. And Monday morning, the child was reunited with her family in
Chesnee.

Federal and state charges are still pending against Ciriaco Trejo Fuentes
who is believed to remain in Hidalgo.
