A missing girl was found in Malvern, Ark., eight years after she
allegedly was kidnapped in San Antonio from her court-appointed guardian,
San Antonio police learned Tuesday.
Nathalie Garcia, 13, was discovered by a parent whose child attended the
same school as Garcia. The parent recognized Garcia’s face from a flier
sent out by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, SAPD
spokesman Joe Rios said.
The parent told the school district, which then contacted the authorities.
In 1997, Teresa Guerra, Garcia’s mother, had just been released from
prison when Garcia, then 4, was taken from the home of Viviane
Villarreal, Garcia’s court-appointed guardian, Rios said.
