Did Dog Prevent Girl’s Abduction?

Verona Officers Beef Up Patrols

VERONA, PA — Police in Verona are increasing patrols after someone tried
to abduct a 2-year-old girl at a home along Center Street Tuesday.

Michelle Nacey said she left her daughter’s side for just a moment when
she heard her dog growling.

She went to check on her daughter and noticed a man allegedly holding her.

She’s crediting the family dog with preventing an abduction.

“What are you doing? That’s the first thing that popped in to my mind.
What are you doing? And the guy just looked at me and Ziggy jumped up and
bit him,” Nacey said.

Police said they have leads in the case and hope to make an arrest soon.
